Founded in 2018, we saw the unprecedented need for good data management in companies. As companies grow faster, managing, cleaning, and integrating data become more painful. Some of the companies adopted famous products that didn’t match with their use cases well and custom solutions that took a lot of upfront investment to build. We saw these pain points and saw this as an opportunity to disrupt the data product market. With the right team, we thought that we have a great shot at solving this problem.

Nalagenetics was built with the passion to give access to personalized prescription to as many people as possible. Two of the co-founders have seen and felt firsthand the betrayal of drugs that were supposed to cure their family members, but instead caused them permanent side effects. It was then that we realized, without understanding how to best use them, innovations in pharma and biotech, meant little to the people who need it most. There is a field, pharmacogenomics, that studies the relationship of genomics and drug metabolism. We think the reason why this isn’t yet adopted in the region is because of low cost effectiveness: compared to status quo, current interventions are too expensive for an effect that is not well measured.
