Job Description:
Marine Operations (Tug and Barge)
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of tug, barge and LCT fleet ensuring compliance with local, national, and international maritime regulations.
- Monitor vessel daily status, performances, achievement, and activities on board.
- Organizing and ensuring all shipboard operational activities run smoothly.
- Ensuring the ship operational team works according to their respective duties.
- Coordinate vessel schedules, manage crew staffing, and oversee maintenance and repairs to keep vessels in optimal operating condition.
- Creating plans, realization, and review of docking for each ship
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures and processes to ensure safe and efficient tug, barge and LCT operations.
- Plan and execute marine operations including navigation, cargo handling, and loading/unloading of vessels in STS area.
- Train personnel in safe and efficient marine operations, including emergency response procedures.
- Monitor and analyse vessel performance data to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other industry professionals.
- Monitor environmental conditions to ensure the safety of vessels, personnel, and cargo.
- Prepare and manage budgets, financial records, and cost analysis of marine operations.
- Ensuring fuel usage onboard complies with the company’s operational standards.
- Monitoring vessel fuel and freshwater usage on board
- Monitor vessel spare part requisitions, spare parts instalment on board and monthly crew allowances and premiums.
- Updating information related to sailing regulations (IMO, publications, book).
Commercial Management (Tug and Barge)
- Understand financial management and business development in tug and barge industry.
- Maintain good relationship with customer including customer complaints.
- Prepare and execute annual commercial plans, strategies, and targets for tug and barge operations.
- Drive business growth, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency through effective commercial strategies.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the tug, barge and LCT sector.
- Manage financial activities including budgets, invoicing, and annual/quarterly reports.
- Review and manage contracts relating to tug, barge and LCT operations including ship management agreements and time charter parties.
- Conduct market research and analyse marine traffic patterns to identify potential risks and develop strategies to minimize them.
- Regularly monitoring and evaluating company vendors and contractors.
- Regularly monitoring company business activities (operational, SOP) complies with the related regulation.
- Developing company plan for management visit and evaluation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Administration/ Diploma IV of Nautical/ Maritime Management or a related field from an accredited College or University or the international equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Indonesia maritime industry with and have experience with tug and barge operations.
- Proven experience in a managerial role
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of marine operations specific to tug and barge, including safety, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to develop, assess, and implement operational and commercial plans to achieve business goals.
- Proficient in relevant software applications and tools used in maritime operations and commercial management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve operational or technical issues.
- Ability to effectively negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
